There is buzz is that television show Ekk Nayi Pehchaan, which started in December 2013, will go off air in a month.
As per the reports of the leading newspaper, despite introducing numerous twists and turns, the show has not been able to garner good ratings. Secondly, with Kaun Banega Crorepati going on air, the show’s time slot has been changed.
Initially, the show revolved around Sharda (Poonam Dhillon) and her struggle to carve an identity. Later, the makers introduced an other-woman angle with Pallavi (Padmini Kolhapure) debuting as the other woman, but it failed to work. Adds the source, “Getting an actress of Padmini’s calibre, the makers felt, would be the biggest twist. However, that also had to be done away within a couple of months.
Poonam says, “People are not even aware that the show’s time slot has changed. I am not sure if it’s going off air, but with the new time slot, and KBC’s latest season underway, viewers may have felt that the show has ended with Padmini’s exit.”
Both Padmini Kolhapure and Poonam Dhillon grew up together in the industry and started their careers together 30 years back. Both of them made their TV debut with the same show Ekk Nayi Pehchaan. They have shared screen space in a Bollywood movie in the 90′s film Qurbani Rang Layegi.
Padmini Kolhapure, one of the most popular actresses of the 80s has been playing sautan to Poonam Dhillon aka Sharda Modi. Delight to watch both, Padmini Kolhapure and Poonam Dhillon sharing the same screen.
