It will almost be 72 years now on the eleventh of October that Amitabh Harivansh Bachchan was born in Allahabad, to Madhushala poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan and social activist and Alleged confidant of Indira Gandhi, Teji Bachchan.

As his birthday is just two days away, Amitabh Bachchan wants to give back something to the fans whose love has ensured his popularity for almost half a century now.

The Bollywood actor currently holds the honourable position for most followed person on Twitter in India. With a fan following spanning the entire demographics of India, Big B has more than 10 million ‘followers’ on Twitter and 16,000,000 ‘likes’ on his Facebook page.

Though most senior citizens don’t get technology, Amitabh is happily an exception to this rule and has chosen to reach out to his fans through social networking platform Twitter. This Saturday, a few lucky fans will have more to cheer about than just a weekend.

The Big B in collaboration with Twitter and Fluence, , which is a celebrity digital media network plans to reply to each and every one of his fans who follow him on Twitter handle @SrBachchan. All they have to do is tweet sending him a birthday wish with the hashtag #AB72Wishes starting Wednesday onwards.

Said Rishi Jaitly, market director (South and Southeast Asia, Twitter), “Mr. Bachchan has been setting standards in using Twitter to connect with fans in real-time and sharing his voice on the platform. We are delighted to host his birthday celebration on Twitter and bring a new experience to his millions of fans and followers.”

The lucky fans will get a digital sign with a special autograph poster by Amitabh, and akin to a lottery, one among the several fans will receive a recorded personal video message by the then seventy-two year old Amitabh.

“Every year on my birthday, I am overwhelmed by love and affection that I receive from my fans, from across the world. This year, I have found this unique way to reciprocate the love, even though the message is communicated through a digital medium for me it is as personal as wishing each individual myself,” stated Amitabh, who is hosting the famous Kaun Banega Crorepati in its eighth season now.
