Beautiful Sangeeta Bijlani, the ’90s glamour girl, is all set to make her debut in small screen. Her TV show will be the Indian adaptation of ‘Revenge’, the hit American TV series.

The actress, a former flame of Salman Khan, will play a desi version of Victoria Grayson, the beautiful and powerful matriarch of the Grayson family. Beneath her glossy public persona, is a ruthless woman. Victoria had shot her mother’s lover, Thomas, upon her request as a teenager.

The Indian retelling of Revenge will be a 24-episode series. It will be shot in Mumbai and Dubai.

Sangeeta is likely to given a complete makeover for the vamp’s role. The details are being worked out. Sangeeta has been looking for good work on TV for some time now. She had several offers in the past; this one really excited her.She is likely to start shooting in October.

Earlier, she was set to make her comeback with Onir’s film ‘Shab’. But Sangeeta stepped out from the project after expressing discomfort with its erotic content. The role eventually went to Raveena Tandon. Now, Bijli will finally have her revenge.

Apparently, Sangeeta started feeling uncomfortable once the workshops started. She confided in her director, who respected her concern and the duo decided to part ways as far as the film is concerned. Said Onir, “I had approached Sangeeta some months ago as I felt she was perfect for the role of this high society diva. However, during the workshops, she developed apprehensions and said that she can’t kiss or shoot certain bold scenes, which are important to the story.

She wasn’t comfortable with that kind of intimacy, so she decided to step back. As a filmmaker, I didn’t want to compromise with the story and I was okay with letting her go, even though we have become friends in the past few months. I hope I will be able to find someone who will do justice to the role the way she could have.”
