Bandhan

Zee TV’s new show- BANDHAN

An elephant from Jaipur will play the lead in an upcoming TV show. Siddharth Tewary’s show Bandhan … Saari Umar Humein Sang Rehna Hai, which will soon go on air, revolves around the bond between a little girl and an elephant.

Siddharth told us, “We went to the Animal Welfare Board Of India and got a list of places (from where we could take an elephant) from them. Going by the regulations, we found the elephant for our show in Jaipur. This is the first show which revolves around the bond between an animal and a human being. The message is not to ill-treat animals. It took us almost a year to get the formalities and approvals in place. Since it is a baby elephant that we had on the show, we also had to get the mother elephant along with him.” The show has Ananya Agarwal playing a six-year-old who “finds a brother” in an elephant. Aditya Redij and Shweta Munshi essay the role of her parents.

“Bandhan Saari Umar Humein Sang Rehna Hai” will depict a unique bond between a little girl and an elephant calf whom she accepts as her younger brother.

The show is described as “a heartwarming story of a very tender relationship between two innocent souls – one based on the most basic emotion of love and affection for one’s sibling, standing by each other through thick and thin and completing each other”, said a statement.

‘Bandhan’, set in a jungle, will take the viewers through the innocent world of Darpan and her family.

The show has been shot extensively in the forest lands where the Karnik family stays in a picturesque house, with a river flowing by its side – a contrast to the grand sets they are used to seeing in daily soap dramas.
