Sony Pal, the new Hindi General Entertainment Channel (GEC) is all set to hit the television screen tonight from 7.30 onwards. USP of the channel is positive and inspiring stories.

 

 

The channel celebrates the goodness of the Indian woman and their never die –spirit. The tag line of the channel is, ‘Yeh pal hamara hai’.

 

Says NP Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Multi Screen Media Private Limited, “The channel will complement our other general entertainment channels, Sony and SAB, and will help the network appeal to the entire spectrum of television viewers. It will showcase content, which will empower women to embrace the positive aspects of modern India while preserving familial togetherness and bonding.”

 

Among their weekday shows are Ek Rishta Aisa Bhi, which talks about the jija-saali relationship, Singhasan Battisi, which is a period drama based on the story of the throne of Raja Vikramaditya with 32 angel statues and Piya Basanti Re where the lead character Piya believes that status and class come not from wealth, but through one’s capability and attitude. Raveena Tandon’s Simply Baatein with Raveena will air on Sundays.

 

There’s also a game show lined up titled Dil Hai Chhotasa Chhoti Si Asha with women contestants and it will be presented by TV’s popular jodi Ragini Khanna and Jay Soni. Commenting on the programming strategy, Anooj Kapoor, Sr EVP and Business Head, Sony Pal and SAB TV, added, “We intend to create a moment of self-expression and self-actualisation amongst women. With leading producers on board, the channel will offer an entire range of fresh concepts, from fiction to non-fiction to period drama.”
