Aishwarya Rai and Shah Rukh Khan
Shah Rukh Khan is all set to work in Rohit Shetty’s next project. According to a report in Absolute India, reportedly the director has approached Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play a plum role in the film.Rohit had lined up a meeting with the actress as he is keen to cast Aishwarya with SRK.
Shah Rukh Khan and Ash were last seen together in Devdas. Rohit and SRK thrilled one and all with their film Chennai Express.
From speculations suggesting that Shah Rukh’s next is a remake of Hum, Chalti Ka Num Gaadi or Angoor to conjectures about the leading lady and the cast, the film has already created buzz around it. But if this report turns out to be true, it will be a comeback for the hit pair of Shah Rukh-Aishwarya who has gifted us some marvellous films together- from Devdas to Mohabbatein.
If Rohit succeeds in locking the stellar cast for his project, then SRK and Aishwarya will romance each other onscreen after 12 years. They were last seen together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2002 film Devdas.
Shah Rukh and Aishwarya have featured together as siblings in 2000 film Josh and Aishwarya had also done a cameo role in Shah Rukh Khan’s Mohabbatein, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan. She also appeared in the item number Ishq Kameena in SRK’s film Shakti.
Regardless of all the rumours floating around, no confirmation has been made from either side.
But it would be really nice to see the Devdas couple setting the silver screen on fire once again.
Meanwhile, Aishwarya is all set for her comeback after a sabbatical of four years in Sanjay Gupta’s Jazbaa opposite Irrfan Khan. Aishwarya will be playing a lawyer in the film and Irrfan, a suspended cop, who has problems with authority and in being disciplined.
This would be the first time that Aishwarya will be playing a lawyer and you would have to agree that it’s Sanjay Gupta’s Jazbaa that has brought these two great actors together in a film.
